Senior Recruitment Consultant – Central
I joined Apollo Home Healthcare in 2019, whilst looking for a new challenge. A friend kindly told me about the role and shared what a great place it was to work, and here I am today, nearly 4 years on!
After a 10-year career in childcare, I joined the Recruitment Team as a Recruitment & Compliance Consultant and now I have happily progressed to a Senior member of the team.
The most challenging part of our role is recruiting candidates with the essential skills and experience our service users need. This is of highest importance to us as it enables our clients to live safely at home with their loved ones, a privilege most of us take for granted.
As the senior member of the recruitment team, working closely with the Recruitment Manager, I support with the day-to-day running and management of the team and their workload; helping to direct the team’s focus so they know exactly what we need to do to meet the recruitment needs of our clients.
I particularly enjoy training the new members of our team and supporting with their induction into the business.
Working closely with our 5 operational offices, and liaising with our recruitment and compliance consultants, I ensure we have all the relevant, up-to-date information and requirements for the packages of care we are recruiting for, keeping the clinical, personal, and social care needs of our clients at the forefront.
It’s a fast-paced environment that is constantly moving and changing, so ensuring the team are focused and prioritising their time effectively is vitally important. Creating weekly reports helps us in managing this, reviewing the number of vacancies we have at any one time and reporting on the number of interviews booked in for these vacancies. Using these figures I prioritise our daily and weekly workload, so we can proactively seek out candidates, which we do by using various methods of recruitment including checking jobs boards, CV searching, and creating and sharing social media posts to name just a few.
I absolutely love the difference I can make to somebody’s life, whether it is helping to get a client discharged home from hospital, reuniting them with their family, or providing young children with the day-to-day care and support they need to give them the best life possible at home with their family, enabling them to access their community and attend educational settings where possible. This all helps relieve the pressure and stresses on the parents, and as a Mom myself, knowing this gives me great job satisfaction.
