Supporting a family member with a life-threatening illness can place enormous strain on the family unit and given the option, most people at the end-of-life stage would choose to be at home surrounded by those closest to them.
You want your loved ones to be treated with respect, to maintain their dignity and ensure that their preferences and choices about their daily lives and activities are acted upon.
The service we provide at Apollo Home Healthcare works closely with the family, district nurses and other members of the primary healthcare teams to carefully assess the amount of support and care that is needed and more importantly, acceptable to both the patient and all family members. As a provider of both Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, we have the capability to adapt a package of care to suit the changing needs of our service users. Our quality and clinical standards meet best practice requirements set out by the Care Quality Commission to ensure that we effectively manage clinical risks.
Our Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses are trained to support the emotional, physical and psychological needs of each service user. Our packages of care can lessen the burden on family carers and provide much needed respite care. Our service can be accessed by patients earlier in their illness and not just at the end-of-life stage. We are committed to putting people at the centre of decisions about the care that they receive.
We can provide you with:-
In consultation with you we will provide you with a personalised care plan that will take into account your needs, preferences and choices. We also like to ensure continuity of care by introducing a small number of Healthcare Assistants or Registered Nurses to your care package. There often is no defined timeframe in these circumstances but we can be with you to support and care for your loved one however long the journey.
