Job description

Apollo Home Healthcare is currently providing a package of care to a baby who was born with a very rare condition, which has meant she has spent the first months of her life in hospital. We are now looking to recruit a team of female healthcare assistants who can provide complex care to her when she goes home for the first time.

This lovely little baby was born with Marshall Smith Syndrome, which means she requires support with breathing and has a tracheostomy and humidifier. She is fed via a naso-gastric tube and has very limited vision. You will be required to support her complex clinical needs as well as providing stimulation and engagement through play, touch and sound. The support of a dedicated care team is vital for this client’s parents who desperately want her to be at home with them in order to have a quality family life.

Because we are providing round the clock care we have shifts available both during the day and at night. Day time support will mostly be provided in mornings, but some flexibility will be required to meet the family’s needs. The care will be provided over 7 nights and so weekend working will be included on a rota basis.

Desired skills

  • Minimum of 12 months care experience
  • Exposure to clinical care tasks.
  • Experience working with children would be an advantage however specific training will be given

You must have a mature outlook, a strong disposition and be able to work with the family in a sensitive and respectful manner.

This baby has very complex needs and this role at times may be very emotionally challenging. Being able to endure the challenge with the support of the Apollo management team will be critical to the success of this baby’s transition to home.

Why work for Apollo?

We are passionate about delivering the highest standard of care and we recognise that our employees are integral to doing this. In return for your hard work and dedication you will receive:

  • Excellent rates of pay
  • Full clinical training specific to your client's needs
  • Opportunity to work with other clients in the area
  • Ongoing professional training and development
  • 24/7 emergency on-call

To apply for this position please feel free to call us on 01902 847111 or click apply now and a member of our recruitment team will be happy to contact you.

Apollo Home Healthcare is an equal opportunities employer (Agy). Please do not apply unless you can evidence previous experience.
