Bury - Greater Manchester
We are currently recruiting an experienced care assistant to provide care in the home of an 8-year-old boy who has some complex clinical care needs.
Our client has a condition called Myotubular Myopathy which effects his muscles and means that he requires ventilation 24 hours a day. He is immobile and is wheelchair dependent at all times, so requires two care assistants for all transfers.
We deliver a package of care that covers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so we can offer both day and night shifts on a full or part time basis. Day shifts are from 8am to 8pm and nights are 8pm to 8am.
Our young client is non-verbal and whilst he understands everything that is said to him, he will use Makaton to communicate. He is nil by mouth and fed via Mic-Key button and has a tracheostomy and ventilator attached at all times.
Despite his complex care needs, our client is still a typical 8-year-old boy who loves going out with his family and care team on local trips. He loves engaging with his care team and is a wonderful little boy to work with.
We are looking for care staff who have exposure to working with children with complex care needs. Ideally you will have experience working with a tracheostomy including suctioning and working with a gastrostomy, however training will be available for the right candidate.
We are passionate about delivering the highest standard of care and we recognise that our employees are integral to doing this. In return for your hard work and dedication you will receive:
